Elephanta Caves

The Elephanta Caves (Marathi: घारापुरीची लेणी, Gharapurichya Lenee) are a network of sculpted caves located on Elephanta Island, or Gharapuri (literally "the city of caves") in Mumbai Harbour, 10 kilometres to the east of the city of Mumbai in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The island, located on an arm of the Arabian Sea, consists of two groups of caves—the first is a large group of five Hindu caves, the second, a smaller group of two Buddhist caves.

Nhava Sheva

Nhava Sheva, officially Jawaharlal Nehru Port, is the largest container port in India. Located south of Mumbai in Maharashtra, the port on the Arabian Sea is accessed via Thane Creek. Its name derives from the names of Nhava and Sheva villages that were situated here.

CIRUS reactor

CIRUS (Canadian-Indian Reactor, U.S. ) is a research reactor at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) in Trombay near Mumbai, India. CIRUS was supplied by Canada in 1954, but uses heavy water (deuterium) supplied by the United States. It is the second oldest reactor in India. It is modeled on the Canadian Chalk River National Research X-perimental (NRX) reactor. The 40 MW reactor burns natural uranium fuel, while using heavy water as a moderator.

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) (Hindi: भाभा परमाणु अनुसन्धान केंद्र Bhābhā Paramānu Anusandhān Kendra) is India's premier nuclear research facility based in Trombay, Mumbai.
