Kathua

Kathua is a city and a Municipal Council in the Indian administered state of Jammu and Kashmir. The word "Kathua" is derived from the word "Thuan" in Dogri which means "Scorpios". The city was the land of Scorpios before the settling of the Dogras who arrived and made the city. Some believe that its name is derived from the name of Rishi Kashyap who disguised himself as a tortoise (kashua) for strong meditation.

Pathankot Airport

Pathankot Airport is a military airport located in Pathankot in the Pathankot district in the state of Punjab, India. The airfield is mostly used by the Indian Air Force. Nos 26 and 108 Squadrons operate from the airfield under the control of No. 18 Wing IAF and Western Air Command. They fly Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 fighter aircraft. It is heavily guarded as many squadrons are located here. The airport lies inside the IAF cantonment.

Jasrota

Jasrota is the capital city of the Jasrotia rajputs, founded by Jasdev, a descendant of The Royal House of Jammu and Kashmir. Their castle was a protection fort and was built to fight the Sikhs or any external threats which they perceived from the other rulers of the time. The palace of the Jasrotias still exists and is a reminder of Jasrotia history. It is situated on the banks of river Ujjh, around 60 km from Jammu, in Jammu and Kashmir.
