Khetri

Khetri Nagar is a town in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan in India. It is part of Shekhawati region. Khetri is actually two towns, the first "Khetri Town" was founded by Raja Khet Singhji Nirwan. The other is the town of "Khetri Nagar", which is about 10 km away from Khetri. It is known for its Copper Project. The township of Khetri Nagar is built and is under control of the Hindustan Copper Limited, a public sector unit under Government of India.

Battle of Maonda and Mandholi

The Battle of Maonda and Mandholi was fought between The Jat rulers of Bharatpur and the Rajput rulers of Amer Jaipur in 1776. Maharaj Jawahar Singh of Bharatpur was leading an army on his way back from Pushkar when the forces of Sawai Raja Madho Singhji of Jaipur met them near Maonda and Mandholi villages close to present day Neem ka Thana. Over 25000 soldiers were slain in this battle and caused heavy casualties on both sides. Many Rajputs and Jats were slain in this battle.
