Gadilam River
The Gadilam River (sometimes pronounced Kedilam) flows through the Cuddalore and villupuram districts of Tamil Nadu. The root word is believed to be Karuda + nadhi. It is quite small in terms of water flow, drainage area and sand deposit. It is generally flooded during the monsoon season and raises the water table and feed tanks on its basin. Few famous temples like Thiruvathigai veerataneshwar temple and Thiruvanthipuram Thevanathan perumal temple are located in its banks.

Cuddalore Central Prison
Cuddalore Central Prison is located in Cuddalore, India. The prison was built during 1865 and initially used for housing mentally challenged people. It was converted into a prison for habitual offenders in 1986. The poet Subramanya Bharathi was confined in this prison during the freedom struggle from 20 September 1918 to 14 December 1918. The prison is authorised to accommodate 723 prisoners.

Ponnaiyar River
The Ponnaiyar is a river in southern India. It rises on the hill of Nandidurg in Chikkaballapur District of Karnataka state, and flows south and then east for 400 km through Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, emptying into the Bay of Bengal at Cuddalore. The South Pennar River is known as Dakshina Pinakini in Kannada and Thenpennai in Tamil. It is also referred as Ponnaiyar .
