Sathankulam

Sathankulam is a panchayat town in Thoothukudi district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is 25 km away from Tiruchendur and 59 km from Tirunelveli. It is well-connected with Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Nagerkovil and Tiruchendur by road. An airport is at Tuticorin 88 km from there.

Tuticorin Port Trust

V.O. Chidambaram Port Trust, formerly Tuticorin Port Port Trust is one of the 12 major ports in India. It was declared to be a major port on 11 July 1974. It is second-largest port in Tamil Nadu and fourth-largest container terminal in India after Kochi International Container Transshipment Terminal, Jawaharlal Nehru Port (Mumbai) and Chennai Port. Avathara Pathi

Avathara Pathi is a phrase in Tamil which represents 'The place where God incarnates'. The Avathara Pathi is one among the holy places of the religion of Ayyavazhi, which had been erected in Thiruchendur. Avathara Pathi is located half-a-mile south to the Murugan Temple, in the sea-shore. According to Akilattirattu Ammanai (the holy text of Ayyavazhi) Lord Narayana was incarnated as Ayya Vaikundar in the sea and Lord Vaikundar arose from the sea at this place.
