Vilpatti is a Panchayat in Kodaikanal Taluk of Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu state, South India. It is composed of the main village of Vilpatti and 11 hamlets. Vilpatti village is 9 km NW of Kodaikanal town, 2 km past Perumal Malai village on the Palani Road. It is an agricultural area with the primary crops of potatoes, coffee and bananas.

Kumbakkarai Falls
Kumbakkarai Falls are lesser known falls in the foothills of the KodaiKanal Hills. They are located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:10|10|48|N|77|31|50|E| | |name= }} in Theni district, 9 kilometers from Periyakulam. Kumbakkarai Falls are located along the Kodai-Vellagavi-Periyakulam foot path. These falls have two stages. At the first stage, water collects in huge rock recesses which are each named after wild animals such as tiger, elephant, snake etc.

History of Kodaikanal
Kodaikanal is a city and a Taluk division of Dindigul district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The earliest residents of Kodaikanal were the Paliyan tribal people. The earliest specific references to Kodaikanal and the Palani Hills are found in Tamil Sangam literature of the early Christian era. Modern Kodaikanal was established as a hill station by American missionaries in 1845, as a refuge from the high temperatures and tropical diseases of the plains.
