Neyveli

Neyveli is a mining and power generation township in Cuddalore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located at 11.30° N - 79.29° E. It is 52 kilometres inland from Bay of Bengal, west of Pondicherry and 197 kilometres south of Chennai, located 8 kilometres west of Vadalur. The Neyveli Township was developed after mining of lignite started under the Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) in 1956 some 10 kilometres north of the original Neyveli village.

Alanduraiyar Temple

Alanduraiyar Temple is a Hindu temple in the village of Kilpaluvur in Ariyalur District of Tamil Nadu, India. Dedicated to the god Shiva, the temple dates to remote antiquity and is associated with the 7th century saint Thirugnanasambandar. It is believed that Parasurama worshipped here to get ride of the sin of killing his mother. The original brick temple was rebuilt in stone during the time of Parantaka Chola I and Uttama Chola.
