Hang Nadim Airport

Hang Nadim Airport, also known as Hang Nadim International Airport, is located in Batam, Riau Islands, Indonesia. Named after the famous Laksamana Hang Nadim, it is the only airport on the island. It has been the primary method of transport to and from Batam, alongside ferries to neighboring islands. As Batam continues to develop its tourism sectors, the Hang Nadim has proved a sufficiently effective airport.

Bintan Island

Bintan Island or Negeri Segantang Lada is an island in the Riau archipelago of Indonesia. It is part of the Riau Islands province, the capital of which, Tanjung Pinang, lies in the island's south and is the island's main community. Bintan's land area is 2,402.28 square kilometres (total area is 60,057 square kilometres including 96% sea area). Its administrative region is designated the Bintan Island Regency, one of the six administrative regions of the Riau Islands province.

Qantas Flight 32

Qantas Flight 32 was a Qantas passenger flight that suffered an uncontained engine failure on 4 November 2010 and made an emergency landing at Singapore Changi Airport. The failure was the first of its kind for the four-engined Airbus A380, the world's largest passenger aircraft. On inspection, it was found that the aircraft's No.2 engine (on the port side nearest the fuselage), a Rolls-Royce Trent 900, had a missing turbine disc.

Penyengat Island

Penyengat Island, Pulau Penyengat in Indonesian (literally, Wasp Island) is an island in Riau Province, Indonesia, of approximately 2 square kilometres. It lies just off Bintan Island, close to Tanjung Pinang, the capital of Riau Province. The island has historical significance, dating back to the 18th Century, when it was established as a fort as part of the Sultanate of Johor by the Bugis. The island contains the tomb of Raja Ali Haji, a 19th Century Islamic historian and scholar.
