Killanne

Killanne is a rural Irish crossroads settlement situated roughly 12 miles (20 km) west of Enniscorthy, County Wexford. Kate Webster, who was hanged for the murder of Julia Martha Thomas, was born around 1849 in Killanne as Kate Lawler at her family's home. United Irish leader John Kelly, who died in 1798, was from Killanne.

Barrow Bridge

The Barrow Bridge is a single track steel railway bridge in south east of the Republic of Ireland. Crossing counties Kilkenny and Wexford, a mile and a half North of New Ross. At 590 ft long it spans the River Barrow half a mile downstream from the confluence of two of The Three Sisters; the Nore and the Barrow.

River Nore

The River Nore is a 140-kilometre long river located in south-east of Ireland. Along with the River Suir and River Barrow, it is one of the constituent rivers of the group known as the Three Sisters. The river drains approximately 977 square kilometres of Leinster. The river rises in the Devil's Bit Mountain, North Tipperary. Flowing generally southeast, and then south, before emptying into the Celtic Sea at Waterford Harbour, Waterford.

Battle of Vinegar Hill

The Battle of Vinegar Hill, Irish Chnoc Fíodh na gCaor was an engagement during the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on 21 June 1798 when over 15,000 British soldiers launched an attack on Vinegar Hill outside Enniscorthy, County Wexford, the largest camp and headquarters of the Wexford United Irish rebels. It marked a turning point in the rebellion, as it was the last attempt by the rebels to hold and defend ground against the British military.
