O'Dempseys GAA

O'Dempseys Gaelic Athletic Association club is a gaelic football club in Killenard, County Laois, Ireland. The club was founded in 1951, won the Laois Junior Football Championship title in that same year and followed up by winning the Laois Intermediate Football Championship title the following year. O'Dempseys went on to win two Laois Senior Football Championship titles in 1963 and 1980.

Portarlington station is a railway station on the Dublin-Cork Main Line. It is the branching-off/exchange point for services to Galway, Ballina, and Westport. Portarlington GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association gaelic football club in Portarlington, County Laois, Ireland. The club grounds are called McCann Park and club colours are maroon jerseys with a green sash and white shorts. Portarlington GAA have won 12 Laois Senior Football Championship titles, the most recent of which was in 2001.

Vicarstown, historically known as Ballynevicar, Ballyvicar and Ballyvicary (Irish: Baile an Bhiocáire, meaning "town of the vicar"), is a village in County Laois, Ireland. It stands at the point where the R427 regional road crosses the Grand Canal of Ireland.

Emo Court

Emo Court, located near the village of Emo in County Laois, Ireland, is a large neo-classical mansion, formal and symmetrical in its design and with beautifully proportioned rooms inside. It was designed by the architect James Gandon in 1790 for John Dawson, the first Earl of Portarlington. It is the only house to have been designed by Gandon. Other buildings by him include the Custom House and Kings Inns, both in Dublin.
