Slieve Rushen is a mountain which straddles the border between County Cavan in the Republic of Ireland and County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. It is also called Slieve Russell or Ligavegra (Also Legavagra, Ligavagra). It has an altitude of 404 metres above sea-level. OS 1/50k Mapsheet: 27A & 26. Grid Ref: H234 226. The mountain is made up of grey limestone with a cap of sandstone and shales and is extensively quarried by local companies.

It is the anglicised version of the Irish word badhún meaning "cattle-stronghold" or "cattle-enclosure" – its original purpose was to protect cattle during an attack.

The Derryvore area first was a part of the Crom Estate, which according to a map survey done in 1719 and 1721 included the townlands of Derrybeg West, Corraharra, and Derryvore.

Drumlane (Irish: Droim Leathain, meaning "The Broad Ridge") is a monastery located in Milltown, County Cavan, Ireland. Located at the monastic site is an abbey, church and round tower which date back to 555. Drumlane was founded by Saint Columba, although Saint Mogue is generally associated with the monastery's foundation, evidence suggests that the foundation of Drumlane is older than his time. In 1261 the monastery was burned by the O'Rourkes, a rival clan of the O'Reillys of East Breifne.

Lisgoole Abbey
Lisgoole Abbey, or the Abbey Church of Saint Peter, Saint Paul and Saint Mary, was formerly located on the southern banks of upper Lough Erne, County Fermanagh. The site was occupied by the old Irish monastery of St Aid but was taken over by the Canons Regular of St. Augustine in 1145. The abbey was destroyed by fire in 1360 but was rebuilt.
