Graines Castle

The Castle of Graines is a castle in Val d'Ayas, located near the village with the same name in the municipality of Brusson, Aosta Valley, northern Italy. It occupies the summit of a rocky spur which commands Brusson and most of the Val d'Ayas. In medieval times, it communicated through flag or mirror messages with the nearby Tower of Bonot and the Castle of Villa at Challand-Saint-Victor. According to a legend, a large treasure lies buried under the castle.

Verrès Castle

The Castle of Verrès (Italian: Castello di Verrès, French: Château de Verrès) is a fortified 14th century castle in the town Verrès of the Aosta Valley region of north-western Italy. It has been called one of the most impressive buildings from the Middle Ages in the area. Every year the castle hosts the Verrès historic carnival, which celebrates the legends of countess Catherine de Challant and count Pierre d'Introd.

Issogne Castle

Issogne Castle is a castle in Issogne in the Aosta region of northwestern Italy. It is one of the most famous manors of the Val d'Aosta and is located on the right bank of the Dora Baltea at the centre of the inhabited area of Issogne. As a seigniorial residence of the Renaissance, the Castle has quite a different look from that of the austere Castle of Verrès, which is located on the opposite bank of the river.

Gressoney (AO)

Gressoney was a commune of Aosta Valley in north-west Italy. It was created in 1928 by the union of the two existing communes of Gressoney-La-Trinité and Gressoney-Saint-Jean. From 1939 onwards its official name was Italianized as Gressonei. The commune was suppressed in 1946 when the two former communes were reconstituted.

Fort Bard

Fort Bard (Italian: Forte di Bard - French: Fort de Bard) is a fortified complex built in the 19th century by the House of Savoy on a rocky prominence above Bard, a town and comune in the Aosta Valley region of northwestern Italy. Fort Bard has been completely restored after many years of neglect. In 2006 it reopened to tourists as the Museum of the Alps, it has additional art exhibitions and galleries. In the summer, the main courtyard is used to host musical and theatrical performances.
