Senio

The Senio is a 92 km river of Romagna in Italy, the final right-sided tributary of the river Reno. The mean discharge at its mouth is about 10 m³/s; however this can vary from a minimum of 0.3 m³/s to a maximum of 500 m³/s. It was the site of a major engagement in 1945 during World War II. The Allied capture of the Senio River area was critical for the success of the Allied drive to capture all of Italy. The British 8th Army took great casualties in crossing the heavily defended river.

Giardino dei Semplici, Bagnacavallo

The Giardino dei Semplici is a botanical garden in Bagnacavallo, Province of Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, central Italy. The garden was established in 2004 on the former Palazzo Graziani grounds, and currently contains over 300 types of herbs and woody plants. It is divided into four sections and features fruit trees, roses, grasses, legumes, and traditional food plants.

Mausoleum of Galla Placidia

The Mausoleum of Galla Placidia is a Roman building in Ravenna, Italy. It was listed with seven other structures in Ravenna in the World Heritage List in 1996. The UNESCO experts describe it as "the earliest and best preserved of all mosaic monuments, and at the same time one of the most artistically perfect".

Baptistry of Neon

The Baptistry of Neon is a religious building in Ravenna, central Italy. The most ancient monument remaining in the city, it was partly erected on the site of a Roman bath. It is also called the Orthodox Baptistry to distinguish it from the Arian Baptistry constructed on behest of Ostrogothic King Theodoric some 50 years later. The octagonal brick structure was erected by Bishop Ursus at the end of the 4th or beginning of the 5th century, as part of his great Basilica (destroyed in 1734).
