The Province of Reggio Emilia (Italian: Provincia di Reggio Emilia) is one of the nine provinces of the Italian Region of Emilia-Romagna. The capital city, which is the most densely populated comune in the Province, is Reggio Emilia. It has an area of 2,293 km² and, based on the 2010 Istituto Nazionale di Statistica (Istat) census, it has a total population of 530,343. There are 44 comuni in the province Rolo, the smallest commune in the Province by area, is the commune farthest to the East.

Canossa Castle

The Castle of Canossa is a castle in Canossa, province of Reggio Emilia, northern Italy. It is especially known as the seat of the Walk to Canossa, the meeting of Emperor Henry IV and Pope Gregory VII during the Investiture Controversy (1077).

Reggio Emilia Cathedral

The Cathedral of Reggio Emilia is one of the three main religious buildings in Reggio Emilia. Built originally in Romanesque style, it was largely modified in the following centuries. The façade had originally 13th centuries frescoes, now houses in the Diocese's museum. The current façade is unfinished, with a 16th century covering in the lower level, with pilasters surrounding niches with the statues of the four patron saints of the city.

San Prospero (Reggio Emilia)

The Basilica of San Prospero is an ancient church in central Reggio Emilia, Italy. A church at the site, known as San Prospero di Castello, located inside the city walls, is known prior to 997. The church and its adjacent bell tower underwent reconstructions. In 1514, the church which was in ruins, was demolished and a new design by Luca Corti and Matteo Florentino was erected by 1527. Minor chapels were added till 1543, when the basilica was reconsecrated.

Reggio Emilia railway station

Reggio Emilia railway station (Italian: Stazione di Reggio Emilia) serves the city and comune of Reggio Emilia, in the region of Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy. Opened in 1859, it forms part of the Milan–Bologna railway, and is also a terminus of three secondary railways, linking Reggio Emilia with Ciano d'Enza, Guastalla and Sassuolo, respectively. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI).
