Aviano Air Base
Aviano Air Base is a NATO base in northeastern Italy, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. It is located in the Aviano municipality, at the foot of the Carnic Pre-Alps, or Southern Carnic Alps, about 15 kilometers from Pordenone. The Italian air force has administrative control of the base and hosts the U.S. Air Force's 31st Fighter Wing. The 31st FW is the only U.S. fighter wing south of the Alps. This strategic location makes the wing critical to operations in NATO's southern region.

Battle of Vittorio Veneto
The Battle of Vittorio Veneto was fought between 24 October and 3 November 1918, near Vittorio Veneto, during the Italian Campaign of World War I. The Italian victory marked the end of the war on the Italian Front, secured the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and was chiefly instrumental in ending the First World War less than two weeks later. Some Italians see Vittorio Veneto as the final culmination of the Risorgimento nationalist movement, in which Italy was unified.

Pordenone railway station
Pordenone railway station (Italian: Stazione di Pordenone) serves the city and comune of Pordenone, in the autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, northeastern Italy. Opened in 1855, the station is located on the Venice–Udine railway. Although it is not a junction or terminal station, it is used by a great many passengers. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni.
