Orioloromano Observatory

Oriolo Romano Observatory is an amateur astronomical observatory in Oriolo Romano, Viterbo, Italy. Built in 2007, the observatory has a Celestron 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain F/10 telescope. The observatory was designed to be fully robotic, uses a QSI WS40 CCD camera with clear filter for data acquisition. The observatory is only used for astronomical research and educational outreach. Website contains a guide to Universities in the United States and in Italy specialized in Physics.

Monti Sabatini

The Monti Sabatini are a geologic region in Lazio, central Italy, a remnant of intense volcanism which started ca. 600,000 years ago, mainly with pyroclastic and maar forming eruptions which continued until 100,000 years ago. They are part of the Lazio's Anti-Apennines. Included between the Monti Sabatini is the Lake Bracciano, which is a volcanotectonic depression formed about 3.7 Ma, and the Lake Martignano.

Lake Vico

Lake Vico (Italian Lago di Vico) is a caldera lake in the northern Lazio region, central Italy. It is one of the highest major Italian lakes, with an altitude of 510 m. Administratively, it is part of the municipalities of Caprarola and Ronciglione. The lake is surrounded by the Cimini Hills, in particular by the Fogliano (965 m) and Venere (851 m) mountains. It is part of the Lake Vico Natural Reserve.

Forum Clodii

Forum Clodii, is a post station on the Via Clodia, about 23 miles (37 km) northwest of Rome (not 32 miles as in the Antonine Itinerary), situated above the western bank of the Lacus Sabatinus (now known as Lake Bracciano), and connected with the Via Cassia at Vacanae by a branch road which ran round the north side of the lake (Ann. Inst. , 1859, 43). The site is marked by the church of SS. Marcus, Marcianus and Liberatus, which was founded in the 8th or 9th century AD.

Tenuta di San Liberato, Bracciano

The Estate of San Liberato lies among woodland and hills gently sloping towards Lake Bracciano in Italy, near Rome, on an area that was once the city of Forum Clodii and which today is deemed to remain an area of outstanding natural beauty. It owes its name to the Romanesque church founded on this site by the Augustinian Monks.
