Battle of Novara (1849)

The Battle of Novara or Battle of Bicocca (Bicocca is a borough of Novara) was one of the battles fought between the Austrian Empire and the Kingdom of Sardinia during the First Italian War of Independence, within the era of Italian unification. Lasting the whole day of 22 March 1849 and ending at dawn on 23 March, it resulted in a severe defeat and retreat of the Piedmontese (Sardinian) army.

Vigevano Cathedral

Vigevano Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Vigevano, Cattedrale di Sant'Ambrogio) is a Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to Saint Ambrose and located in the Piazza Ducale of Vigevano, Italy. It is the seat of the Bishop of Vigevano. The present building dates from the 16th century, with a west front of the 1670s.

Battle of Magenta

The Battle of Magenta was fought on 4 June 1859 during the Second Italian War of Independence, resulting in a French-Sardinian victory under Napoleon III against the Austrians under Marshal Ferencz Gyulai. It took place near the town of Magenta in northern Italy on 4 June 1859. Napoleon III's army crossed the Ticino River and outflanked the Austrian right forcing the Austrian army under General Gyulay to retreat.

Novara railway station

Novara railway station (Italian: Stazione di Novara) is the main station serving the city and comune of Novara, in the Piedmont region, northwestern Italy. Opened in 1854, it forms part of the Turin–Milan and Arona–Alessandria railways, and is also a junction station for four other lines, to Biella, Varallo Siesa, Domodossola and Luino, respectively. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI).

Novara Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Novara or Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta) is a Roman Catholic cathedral located at the Piazza della Repubblica in Novara, Piedmont, Italy. It is the seat of the Bishop of Novara. Construction began in the 11th century of the original church on the site, which was consecrated in 1132.
