Province of Asti

The Province of Asti (It. Provincia di Asti) is a province in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. Its capital is the city of Asti. To the north west it borders on the province of Turin; to the south west it borders on the province of Cuneo. To the east it borders on the province of Alessandria, while in the south it shares a very short border with the Ligurian province of Savona. It has an area of 1,504.5 km², and a total population of 222,336 (2012).

Asti's Festival of Festivals

Asti's Festival of Festivals (in Italian Festival delle Sagre di Asti), is a great food and wine national event that takes place in Asti on the second Sunday of September, but it begins, as now established tradition, the previous Saturday night, when the influx of people sometimes exceed that of the same Sunday and falls in the period of "Astesan September", which includes the wine event Douja d'Or (which lasts ten days) and the Palio of Asti that runs on the third Sunday of September.

Asti railway station

Asti railway station (Italian: Stazione di Asti) serves the city and comune of Asti, in the Piedmont region, northwestern Italy. Opened in 1849, the station forms part of the Turin–Genoa and Castagnole–Asti–Mortara railways, and is also a junction for two other lines, to Genoa and Chivasso, respectively. The station is currently managed by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI). However, the commercial area of the passenger building is managed by Centostazioni.

Dora Baltea

Orco

The Orco (Piemontese: Eva d'òr, that is Water of gold; Latin: Orgus) is an Italian river. It originates in the Piedmontese slopes of Gran Paradiso, and after about 100 km (62 mi) reaches the Po River near Chivasso. Its drainage basin is home to the most important complex of hydropower in Piedmont, consisting of five dams: Agnel, Serrù, Ceresole, Piantonetto, Valsoera, and numerous turbines. The Orco is known also for its gold-bearing sand, extracted already in antiquity.
