Canale Villoresi
Canale Villoresi is a canal in Italy; it was the brainchild of Lombardy engineer Eugenio Villoresi. It originates from the River Ticino near the village of Somma Lombardo, and runs eastwards for 86 km to the Adda River. Construction began in 1877, but Villoresi himself died two years later. The works were completed in 1890 by a consortium. Irrigation was the canal's main reason for being but the addition of locks enabled cargoes of sand to be carried along it.

The Basilica of San Gaudenzio is a church in Novara, Piedmont, northern Italy. It is the highest point in the city. It is dedicated to Gaudentius of Novara, first Christian bishop of the city. It was built between 1577 and 1690 following the destruction of the old Basilica, ordered by Emperor Charles V. The Basilica itself was built by Pellegrino Tibaldi; however, the monumental cupola was designed by Antonelli. The cupola was completed in 1887 and it is 121 m high.

The NATO Rapid Deployable Corps - Italy (NRDC-IT) (also Rapid Deployable Italian Corps) is a corps headquarters of the Italian Army. It was established in November 2001 as a High Readiness Force (HRF) of NATO. The staff of NRDC-IT is located in Solbiate Olona, a few kilometers northwest of Milan. The NRDC-IT was the former 3rd Army Corps. In 1957, the 3rd Army Corps was established in Milan, commanding three divisions and support units.
