The Germanasca (also in Piedmontese Germanasca) is a 27 km Italian torrent, which runs through the Province of Turin. It is a tributary of the Chisone, into which it flows near Perosa Argentina. The valley formed by the river is known as Val Germanasca.

Valle Germanasca

The Valle Germanasca is a valley in the province of Turin, Piedmont, north-western Italy run by the Germanasca stream, a right affluent of the Chisone. The valley is a renowned summer tourist resort, its main attraction being its natural landscape. The main resort is Ghigo, a frazione of the commune of Prali. Also visited are the Talc mines of the valley, which are of its main resources and are still active.

Abbadia Alpina

Abbadia Alpina (formerly Abadia; in Piedmontese La Badìa; in Occitan L'Abaïa) is a frazione of the commune of Pinerolo in the Province of Turin in north-west Italy, located between the torrents Lemina and Cusone. At one time it belonged to a Benedictine monastery founded in 1064 by Adelaide, Countess of Turin, and suppressed in 1748. In the nineteenth century it was a commune in its own right, part of the mandamento of Pinerolo in the Province of Pinerolo and the Diocese of Pinerolo. c.

Fenestrelle Fort

The Fortress of Fenestrelle overlooks the tiny city of Fenestrelle, Piedmont, northern Italy. It is by far the largest Alpine fortification in Europe, having a surface area of approximately 1,350,000 m². It guards the access to Turin via the Chisone valley, with its lowest defences at around 1,100 metres altitude while the highest part extends to the summit of Mount Pinai at nearly 1,800 metres. The overall length is some three and a half kilometres.
