The airport is located approximately 12 km west of Ancona, in Falconara Marittima. Falconara Airport

Falconara Airport is a joint-use civil airport and Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) facility in Italy, located approximately 3 km west of Falconara Marittima in province of Ancona, about 200 km north-northeast of Rome. The airport is used for general aviation, with no commercial airline service. Along with the Italian Air Force, It is also the headquarters of the Italian Army's 84th Infantry Battalion.

The Lazzaretto of Ancona also called the Mole Vanvitelliana is an 18th century building, constructed on an artificial island for the purpose of serving as quarantine station and Leprosarium for the port town of Ancona, Italy. While the term lazaretto has been interpreted by some as merely a quarantine station for maritime travellers; for centuries, it was the term used to refer to lazar house, referring to the one of the two New Testament persons named Lazarus.
