Orto Botanico dell'Università di Siena
The Orto Botanico dell'Università di Siena (2.5 hectares) is a botanical garden operated by the University of Siena. It is located at Via P. A. Mattioli, 4, Siena, Tuscany, Italy, and open daily without charge. The garden's history reaches back to 1588 when the university began to raise medicinal herbs. In 1756 the field of herbal studies was supplanted by natural history, and starting in 1759, under the direction of Giuseppe Baldassarri, the garden began to collect uncommon plants.

Sant'Agostino (Siena)
Sant'Agostino is a church in Siena, Tuscany, central Italy. The construction of the church and its associated convent began in 1258 and lasted for more than fifty years. Other renovations and reconstructions were carried out in the following centuries. The interior, redesigned by Luigi Vanvitelli in the 18th century, has maintained the large high altars in polychrome marble from the 16th and 17th centuries. The stucco statues in the nave and in the transept date from the Vanvitelli renovation.

San Giuseppe (Siena)
San Giuseppe is a church in Siena, Tuscany, Italy. The church was commissioned by the contrada dell'Onda and begun in 1521. Construction continued for the whole century. The façade, finished in 1653, is mostly in brickwork, with two superimposed orders divided by pilaster strips. The interior is on the Greek Cross plan, surmounted by an octagonal dome with a lantern. Decoration is attributed to the Nasini family. The crypt, a suggestive 16th century hall, contains the contrada's museum.

The Cathedral of Siena (Italian: Duomo di Siena), dedicated from its earliest days as a Roman Catholic Marian church and now to Santa Maria Assunta (Most Holy Mary of Assumption), is a medieval church in Siena, central Italy. The cathedral itself was originally designed and completed between 1215 and 1263 on the site of an earlier structure. It has the form of a Latin cross with a slightly projecting transept, a dome and a bell tower.

The Santa Maria della Scala (also referred to as the Hospital, Ospedale, and Spedale) is located in Siena, Italy. Now a museum, it used to be an important civic hospital dedicated to caring for abandoned children, the poor, the sick, and pilgrims. Financial income came partially from bequests and donations of various sorts from the citizens of Siena, particularly the wealthy. The head of the hospital was the rector and, under him lay brothers kept things running.
