1920 Garfagnana earthquake

The 1920 Garfagnana earthquake (also known as the Lunigiana earthquake) was a major earthquake that occurred on September 7, 1920 in Garfagnana and Lunigiana, both agricultural areas in the Italian Tuscany region. The quake hypocenter was located 14 kilometres beneath Villa Collemandina. The maximum felt intensity was rated as X (Intense) on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, and 6.6 on the Richter magnitude scale.

Monte Tambura

Monte Tambura is a mountain (1,891 m) in the Alpi Apuane, in Tuscany, central Italy. It is the second highest peak in the chain after Monte Pisanino. Located on the boundary between the province of Lucca and the province of Massa-Carrara, the Tambura is part of the Natural Regional Park of the Alpi Apuane.

Lago di Vagli

Lago di Vagli is a lake in the Province of Lucca, Tuscany, Italy. It was created in 1953 after the construction of a dam. It houses a depopulated village, the Fabbriche di Careggine, which becomes reachable when the basin is emptied for maintenance. The population was transferred in new residences built in the nearby Vagli Sotto.

Orto Botanico "Pania di Corfino"

The Orto Botanico "Pania di Corfino" (less than 1 hectare) is a botanical garden located an altitude of 1370 m in the Natural Park dell'Orecchiella in Pié Magnano, Corfino, Villa Collemandina, Province of Lucca, Tuscany, Italy. It is open daily in the warmer months; an admission fee is charged. The garden was established in 1984 to collect and preserve indigenous flora of the Apennine Mountains.
