Compignano

Compignano is a village in Italy. It has 175 inhabitants according to the 2001 ISTAT data, who are known as compignanesi. Though a more recent estimate puts the population closer to 177. It is a frazione of the comune of Marsciano, a larger town 12 km away, along strada statale 317 then provinciale 340 to Spina. Compignano is on top of a low (262m) hill, overlooking the valley of the river Nestore, which runs in a wide horseshoe-shaped curve at the foot of the hill.

Museo del vino (Torgiano)

The Wine Museum of Torgiano is a private museum, specialized and completely dedicated to the culture of wine. Located in an area of wine production, the museum was founded by the wine producers Giorgio Lungarotti, owner and founder of Cantine Lungarotti Winery and his wife Maria Grazia Marchetti in 1974 and is run, together with the Olive and oil Museum, by the Lungarotti Foundation, which promotes studies, cultural events and exhibitions aimed at enhancing the wine and olive oil economy.

Museo dell'olivo e dell'olio

The Museo dell'olivo e dell'olio (Olive and oil Museum) is a private museum located in Torgiano specialized in olive oil and olive culture and knowledge. Its premises are in an ancient oil mill, which worked till the 1960s. Fontignano

Fontignano is a frazione of the comune of Perugia, Italy, located near Lake Trasimeno. The famous High Renaissance painter Pietro Perugino died of the plague in Fontignano in 1524 and some of his masterpieces are still preserved in Fontignano.
