Tartaro-Canalbianco-Po di Levante

Tartaro-Canalbianco-Po di Levante is a river of north-east Italy. It is the only river whose course runs between the Adige river and the Po river and flows into the Adriatic Sea. The first part of its course, whose length is 52 km from resurgences to Torretta, flows in the province of Verona and in the province of Mantua and is known by the name of Tartaro.

Panaro (river)

The Panaro is an Italian river and the final right-hand tributary to the Po, discounting the Cavo Napoleonico canal. It runs right across Emilia-Romagna in a north-easterly direction: from its source close to the Apennine watershed, where Emilia-Romagna meets Tuscany, to its outlet where the Po marks the region’s boundary with Veneto. Its Latin name was Scultenna. It is 148 km (92 mi) long, with a 2,292 km² drainage basin; alternating between aridity in summer and fullness in spring and autumn.

Battle of Occhiobello

The Battle of Occhiobello was fought on 8 April – 9 April 1815 and was the turning point of the Neapolitan War. Joachim Murat, King of Naples was repulsed by an Austrian force under the command of Johann Frimont whilst trying to cross the bridge over the Po River at Occhiobello. Following the battle, the Austrians would not lose an engagement for the remainder of the war.

Villa Badoer

Villa Badoer is a villa in Fratta Polesine in the Veneto region of northern Italy. It was designed in 1556 by Andrea Palladio for the Venetian noble Francesco Badoer, and built between 1557 and 1563, on the site of a medieval castle which guarded a bridge across a navigable canal. This was the first time Palladio used his fully developed temple pediment in the facade of a villa.
