Hopewell, Hanover

Hopewell is a settlement and fishing village in Hanover Parish, Jamaica, located 15 kilometres west of Montego Bay. Its main tourist attraction is Round Hill, Jamaica, a resort located on the beach front in the eastern side of the settlement known as one of the finest resorts in Jamaica. A small fleet of fishing boats operates from the beach to the west of the center of town.

Round Hill, Jamaica

The historic Round Hill hotel and villa resort near Montego Bay in Hopewell, Hanover, Jamaica opened in 1952 and has served as a posh retreat for its wealthy international guests and homeowners for 61 years. It is located on a 100-acre peninsula that was originally a sugar plantation and subsequently changed over to coconuts and allspice. It has entertained many celebrities and politicians including John F. Kennedy, Ralph Lauren, Paul Newman and Bob Hope.

Hanover Parish

Hanover, is a parish located on the northwestern tip of the island of Jamaica. It is a part of the county of Cornwall, bordered by St. James in the east, and Westmoreland in the south. With the exception of Kingston, it is the smallest parish on the island. Hanover is the birth parish of The Right Excellent Sir Alexander Bustamante, one of Jamaica's seven National Heroes, a labour leader and first head of government after universal suffrage.

Montpelier railway station, Jamaica

Montpelier railway station opened in 1895 and closed in 1992. It served the village of Montpelier on the Kingston to Montego Bay line and was 103 miles from the Kingston terminus. It is on the list of designated National Heritage Sites in Jamaica.

Anchovy railway station

Anchovy railway station opened in c1894 and closed in 1992. It served the small town of Anchovy, Jamaica on the Kingston to Montego Bay line and was 105.75 miles from the Kingston terminus. It was built around 1894 of timber in the Jamaican Georgian architectural style. It has two floors. The ground floor has timber doors and sash windows.
