Seto Windhill

The Seto Windhill is a collection of wind turbines located on the peaks of mountains along the Sadamisaki Peninsula, in the town of Ikata, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. The windfarm borders the Seto Wind Hill Park. The installation consists of 11 Mitsubishi Heavy Industries MWT-1000s with a nameplate capacity of 1000 kW. They were erected starting September 2002, and began full operation in October 2003.

Sadamisaki Peninsula

The Sadamisaki Peninsula is the westernmost part of the island of Shikoku, and is the narrowest peninsula in Japan. It is covered by the town of Ikata, Ehime Prefecture, and is home to the Ikata Nuclear Power Plant. The peninsula is bounded to the north by the Inland Sea, to the south by the Uwa Sea, and to the west by the Hōyo Strait, which separates Shikoku from Kyūshū.

Kuro-shima, Ehime

Kuro-shima, Ehime is a small, uninhabited island in the Uwa Sea off the coast of Shikoku, Japan. It belongs to the town of Ikata, Ehime Prefecture. Though the island is uninhabited now, in the 13th century text A Collection of Things Heard, Ancient and Modern is written the following legend: “ In the Antei era (1227–1229), in the Yano area of the Iyo Province there was an island called Kuro-shima. It was about one ri (4 km) from the nearest settlement.

Ikata, Ehime

Ikata, Ehime is a small town located in Nishiuwa District, Ehime, Japan. Following a recent merger with the neighboring towns of Misaki and Seto, the town now spans the mountainous Sadamisaki Peninsula, the narrowest peninsula in Japan and the westernmost point on the island of Shikoku. This unique geography has greatly influenced Ikata's growth. On the one hand, it has presented significant challenges to urban development that were not overcome until recently in the town's long history.

Yawatahama, Ehime

Yawatahama, Ehime is a city located in the southwestern part of Ehime, Japan and has the largest fish market on Shikoku. The Mikan is the featured agricultural product. On March 28, 2005 Yawatahama absorbed the town of Honai, from Nishiuwa District, to form the new and expanded city of Yawatahama. Regular bus service connects Honai and Yawatahama.
