The large-scale hydroelectricity-generating dam is managed directly by Chubu Electric Power, Co. , and was built as part of the first step of a consistent development plan for the Hida River basin. It is an 87.0-meter-tall concrete gravity dam, and the first high dam on the Hida River.

Hida Gokoku Shrine
Hida Gokoku Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The shrine is designated to the people from the area who died during wars. The time period represented by the dead ranges from the Satsuma Rebellion in 1877 to World War II. Because it represented only a small portion of the prefecture, it was eventually replaced by the Gifu Gokoku Shrine.

Shinhotaka Ropeway
The Shinhotaka Ropeway is an aerial lift system in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, and is operated by Okuhi Sightseeing Development . The Meitetsu Group company also operates hotels in the area. Opened in 1970, the line climbs to the hillside of the Hida Mountains' Mount Hotaka, the third tallest mountain in Japan.
