Tenninkyo Onsen

Tenninkyō Onsen (天人峡温泉) is a small onsen resort in the Daisetsuzan National Park, Hokkaidō, Japan. It consists of a number of high-rise concrete hotels, and has two waterfalls that attract a number of visitors: the 270 meter Hagoromo Waterfall (羽衣の滝, hagoromo no taki) and the Shikishima Waterfall (敷島の滝, shikishima no taki). There are also a number of popular hiking courses nearby.

Asahidake Onsen

Asahidake Onsen is a small village in the Taisetsuzan National Park, Hokkaidō, Japan. The village consists of a few hotels and a youth hostel. It a popular base for hikers in the national park, and for tourists using Asahidake Ropeway to climb Asahidake, Hokkaidō's highest peak. There is also a hot springs resort, with approximately twelve buildings. The nearby ropeway costs 1800 or 2800 yen, depending on the time of year.

Biei, Hokkaido

Biei, Hokkaido is a town located in Kamikawa (Ishikari) District, Kamikawa, Hokkaidō, Japan. As of 2007, the town has an estimated population of 11,313 and a density of 16.7 persons per km². The total area is 677.16 km². Biei is famous for its views of wide fields and hills, and is used as a backdrop for many Japanese commercials and TV programmes. The bright colours of its fields attract thousands of visitors in July and August. The town also houses the Shinzo Maeda Photo Art Gallery.

Asahidake Ropeway

The Asahidake Ropeway is Japanese aerial lift line in Asahidake Onsen, Higashikawa, Hokkaidō, operated by Wakasa Resort . Refurbished in 2000, the line climbs Mount Asahidake of Daisetsuzan Mountains, the tallest mountain in Hokkaidō. The line mainly transports spectators of alpine plants in summer and autumn colors in autumn, while there also is a ski area.

Kamikawa (Teshio) District, Hokkaido

Kamikawa (Teshio) District, Hokkaido is a district located in Kamikawa Subprefecture, Hokkaidō, Japan. Confusingly, there is a district of the same name, Kamikawa (Ishikari) District, in the same subprefecture. When Hokkaidō was divided into provinces and districts, this district was placed under Teshio Province. The name is derived from its location at the headwaters of the Teshio River (the other Kamikawa is named after the Ishikari River).
