Nishi-Akashi Station is a Sanyō Shinkansen and Sanyō Main Line railway station serving the city of Akashi, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. As part of the Urban Network, the J-Through Card, ICOCA, Suica, PiTaPa, TOICA and SUGOCA can all be used on the Sanyō Main Line (they can not be used for Shinkansen service).

Akashi Castle

is a Japanese castle in Akashi, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. This castle was constructed by Ogasawara Tadazane as his own castle from 1617 to 1619 to watch over the western lords, by the order of Tokugawa Hidetada, on Mount Akamatsu. The castle was built in one year, which was a relatively short amount of time. This was done so quickly because as a result of a 1615 law mandating one castle per clan, many castles were dismantled and parts of some were used to construct Akashi Castle.

Kobe College of Liberal Arts

was a private junior college in Akashi, Hyogo, Japan. The college was founded in 1967 as Akashi Women's Junior College (明石女子短期大学) with the Department of Clothing Science. It became coeducational in 1969 and was renamed Akashi Junior College. In 1970 it added the departments of Design and Liberal Arts. In 1990 it was renamed Kobe College of Liberal Arts. In 2008 the college was merged into Kobe University of Fashion and Design and renamed Kobe College of Fashion and Design (神戸ファッション造形大学短期大学部).
