Edosaki, Ibaraki

Edosaki, Ibaraki was a town located in Inashiki District, Ibaraki, Japan. On March 22, 2005 Edosaki was merged with the towns of Azuma and Shintone, and the village of Sakuragawa, all from Inashiki District, to form the new city of Inashiki and no longer exists as an independent municipality. As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 20,030 and a density of 379.21 persons per km². The total area was 52.82 km².

Ushiku Daibutsu

The Ushiku Daibutsu, located in Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, is one of the world's tallest statues. Completed in 1993, it stands a total of 120 meters (394 feet) tall, including the 10m high base and 10m high lotus platform. An elevator takes visitors up to 85m off the ground, where an observation floor is located. It depicts Amitabha Buddha is made of bronze. It is also known as Ushiku ARCADIA (Amida's Radiance and Compassion Actually Developing and Illuminating Area).

Lake Kasumigaura

is the second-largest lake in Japan, located 60 km to the north-east of Tōkyō. Lake Kasumigaura is actually the name given to a group of contiguous lakes, which includes the main lake, Nishiura (西浦), and two smaller lakes, Kitaura (北浦)and Sotonasakaura, and also encompasses the rivers connecting them. About 45% of the land surrounding the lake is natural landscape and 43.5% is agricultural land.
