Ikuta Shrine

Ikuta Shrine is a Shinto shrine in the Chūō Ward of Kobe, Japan, and is possibly among the oldest shrines in the country. According to Nihon Shoki, it was founded by the Empress Jingū at the beginning of the 3rd century AD to enshrine the kami Wakahirume, and was used as the base for a festival welcoming warriors back from the latest attempt to invade Korea.

Kobe Regatta & Athletic Club

The Kobe Regatta & Athletic Club, was founded on September 23, 1870 by Alexander Cameron Sim, and is Japan's oldest sports club. The Club moved to a newly manufactured building at the end of 1870 and held its first-ever regatta on December 24, of that same year.

Kitano-chō

or Kitano Ijinkan is a historical district in Kobe, Japan, which contains a number of foreign residences from the late Meiji and early Taishō eras of Japanese history. While the term ijinkan can refer to any foreign residence of this period in Japan, it usually refers to those of Kitano given the number and high concentration of those that remain. Ijinkan districts exist in other locales, but due to war and natural disasters, these districts are not as well preserved.

Kobe Mosque

, also known as Kobe Muslim Mosque, was founded in October, 1935 in Kobe and is Japan's first mosque. Its construction was funded by donations collected by the Islamic Committee of Kobe from 1928 until its opening in 1935. The mosque was confiscated by the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1943. However, it continues to function as mosque today. It is located in the Kitano-cho foreign district of Kobe.
