Shijimizuka site
The Shijimizuka site is a late Jōmon archaeological site in Naka-ku, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. , inhabited from approximately 2000 BC – 1000 BC. The existence of a number of large shell middens containing millions of shells of freshwater bivalve clams was noted in mid-Edo period records.
