Kuma River (Japan)
is a river in Kumamoto Prefecture, Kyūshū, Japan. It is 115 km long and has a drainage area of 1,880 km². It is considered to be one of the three most rapid rivers of Japan. Kuma River is a popular tourist spot. About 70,000 tourists take a ride on the river every year. The river is also used for fishing, mainly in June, and for irrigation of nearby rice fields. It then empties into the Yatsushiro Sea at Yatsushiro.

Shin-Yatsushiro Station
Shin-Yatsushiro Station is a JR Kyushu railway station located in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. The station opened on March 13, 2004, to coincide with the opening of a section of the Kyushu Shinkansen high speed railway line. The Kyushu Shinkansen Tsubame is currently operational from Shin-Yatushiro to Kagoshima-Chuo station in Kagoshima; it will eventually extend north to Hakata station in Fukuoka and join with the Sanyo Shinkansen line.
