Okutadami Dam

The Okutadami Dam is a concrete gravity dam on the Tadami River, 26 km east of Uonuma on the border of Niigata and Fukushima Prefectures, Japan. The primary purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power generation and it supports a 560 MW power station which is the largest conventional hydroelectric power station in Japan. The dam also forms the second largest reservoir in Japan, next to that of the Tokuyama Dam.

Hakkaisan Ropeway

The Hakkaisan Ropeway is Japanese aerial lift line in Minamiuonuma, Niigata, operated by Prince Hotels. The line opened in 1983 as a gondola lift line, and refurbished as an aerial tramway in 2001. It climbs Mount Hakkai of Muikamachi Hakkaisan Ski Resort . The line mainly transports skiers, but also hikers and autumn color spectators in other seasons. The line only operates in "winter" (from December to March) and "summer" (from May to October).
