Kawagoe Castle

Kawagoe Castle is a flatland Japanese castle in the city of Kawagoe, in Japan's Saitama Prefecture. It is the closest castle to Tokyo to be accessible to visitors, as Edo castle is now the Imperial palace, and largely inaccessible. Along with a number of other castles in the region, Kawagoe saw much action in the 15th-16th centuries, as the Hōjō clan and two branches of the Uesugi clan vied for control of the Kantō region.

Kamifukuoka, Saitama

Kamifukuoka, Saitama was the name of a city located in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. On October 1, 2005, Kamifukuoka merged with the town of Ōi in Iruma District to form the new city of Fujimino. As of 2003, the city had an estimated population of 54,486 and a population density of approximately 8,000 persons per km². The total area was 6.81 km². The city was founded on April 10, 1972.
