Gilgil

Gilgil, Kenya, is a town in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. The town is located between Naivasha and Nakuru and along the Nairobi - Nakuru highway. It is to the west of the Gilgil River, which flows south to feed Lake Naivasha. Gilgil has a population of 18,805 according to the 1999 census. Gilgil is the centre of the Gilgil Division in Nakuru District.

Jomo Kenyatta High School

Jomo Kenyatta High School is located in Bahati Division, Nakuru District, Rift Valley Province in Kenya. Initially this school was known as Ngwataniro Secondary School, but later renamed after Kenya's first president Jomo Kenyatta. It was pioneered by among others the late Kihika Kimani. It is scenically located facing the famous Menengai Crater on the rise towards the Kenyan Eastern Highlands, in the Great Rift Valley.

Hyrax Hill

Hyrax Hill is a prehistoric site near Nakuru in the Rift Valley province of Kenya. It is considered one of the country's most important neolithic excavation sites. Hyrax Hill dates from 1500 B.C. and was discovered by Louis and Mary Leakey in 1926. Excavations started in 1937, directed by Mary Leakey. Remains of settlements, tombs and a fortress built of stone were found, as well as 19 bodies, beheaded in an unusual way and in a crooked posture.
