Embu, Kenya

Embu is a town located approximately 120 kilometres northeast of Nairobi towards Mount Kenya. Embu serves as the provincial headquarters of Eastern Province in Kenya and is also the district headquarters of Embu District. Kutus

Kutus may also refer to Qutuz Kutus is a town in Kirinyaga District, Kenya. Kutus forms a local authority together with another township, Kerugoya. It is known as Kerugoya/Kutus municipality. The municipality has a population of 39,441, of whom 14,056 are classified urban (1999 census). The municipality has six wards: Kerugoya Central, Kerugoya North, Kerugoya South, Kutus South, Kutus Central and Nduini.

Kangaru High School

Kangaru School is located in the Eastern Province of Kenya in Embu. It was built by the first missionaries that arrived in Kenya during the colonialism in the 1920s. It was rebuilt in 1947 on a Harambee basis. There is a nearby village called Kangaru which is probably where the name comes from. There is a river close to the school, the Kapingazi River, that students called "rivee. " The student population is about 500 with a teaching staff of about 30.
