Chuka is a town in Meru South District of Kenya about 70 km South Of Meru Town. It falls within Eastern Province and the people of the area are Kimeru speaking. It is on the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya. Chuka Town is chiefly occupied by the Chuka people,one of the nine Meru dialect Speakers. They dwell on the south-eastern slopes of Mt. Kangaru High School
Kangaru School is located in the Eastern Province of Kenya in Embu. It was built by the first missionaries that arrived in Kenya during the colonialism in the 1920s. It was rebuilt in 1947 on a Harambee basis. There is a nearby village called Kangaru which is probably where the name comes from.
