Dandora

Dandora is an eastern suburb in Nairobi, Kenya. It is part of the Embakasi division. Surrounding neighbourhoods called estates include Kariobangi, Baba Dogo, Gitare Mariogo and Korogocho. Dandora is divided into five phases. Dandora was established in 1977, with partial financing by the World Bank in order to offer higher standard of housing http://www. nd. edu/~ndmag/au2005/africa1. html. However, the estate has turned into a high-density slum with high unemployment.

Kariobangi

Kariobangi is a low-income residential estate in northeastern Nairobi, Kenya. It consists of both apartments and slum-type dwellings. It is split into two parts, Kariobangi North and Kariobangi South. The northern part was constructed first, with first buildings built in 1961. Kariobangi South Estate is straddled by the Outering Road (on the Eastern part) and the Nairobi – Thika railway line on the Western and southerly parts.

Moi International Sports Centre

The Moi International Sports Centre (abbreviated as M.I.S.C. ) is a multi-purpose stadium in Kasarani, Kenya. It was built in 1987 for the All-Africa Games held in Nairobi. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium was used to host the 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards. The stadium had been closed since January 2010 for major renovations costing about Ksh. 900 million, which was funded by a grant to the Government of Kenya by the Government of China.

Mathare is a collection of slums in Nairobi, Kenya with a population of approximately 500,000 people; the population of Mathare Valley alone, the oldest of the slums that make up Mathare, is 180,000 people. Mathare is the home of football team Mathare United of the MYSA.

Embakasi

Embakasi is a division of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. It is located east of the central business district. As a residential estate it houses mostly lower middle income citizens. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the main airport of Nairobi is located in Embakasi and it was known as Embakasi Airport when it was opened in 1958. Embakasi is considered part of Nairobi's Eastlands area, lying to the south-east of Nairobi province.
