Lake Malombe
Lake Malombe is a lake in southern part of Malawi, on the Shire River, in the Southern Region. It is located at around {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:14|40|0|S|35|15|0|E|type:waterbody_region:MW | |name= }}. It has an area of about 450 square kilometres . In recent years the number of fishermen on the lake rose substantially, this led to local decline in some fish species, such as chambo.

The Mangochi District is a real hub of commerce. It is a transit point, with roads leading to all areas of Malawi and Mozambique to the east.
