Bajío

The Bajío (lowlands) is a region of Central Mexico that includes the plains south of the Sierra de Guanajuato, in the state of Guanajuato, as well as parts of the states of Querétaro, Aguascalientes, Jalisco and Michoacán (particularly the area around Zamora). Salamanca, Guanajuato

Salamanca is a city in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. Founded January 1, 1603 as 'Villa de Salamanca' by the Viceroy Gaspar de Zuniga and Acevedo, fifth Earl of Monterrey, who was originally from Salamanca. The town was founded in the lands of Bajio, after cattle ranchers and poor farmers, a few Spaniards, and small groups of Otomi Indians who formerly occupied a village named Xidoo, already lived in the area.

Estadio Sección XXIV

Estadio Sección XXIV is a multi-use stadium in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium for Petroleros de Salamanca. The stadium has a capacity 15,000 people and opened in 1951.

Jaral del Progreso

Jaral del Progreso is a Mexican city and municipality located in the Bajío (lowlands) of the state of Guanajuato. With an area of 174.37 square kilometres, Jaral del Progreso accounts for 0.57% of the surface of the state. It is bordered to the north by Salamanca, to the northeast by Cortazar to the southeast by Salvatierra, to the south by Yuriria, and to the west by Valle de Santiago. The municipality had a total of 14,906 inhabitants according to the 2005 census.

Valle de Santiago

Valle de Santiago is a municipio (municipality) in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, and also the name of its largest township and cabecera municipal (municipal seat). The municipality is located in the southern portion of the state in the Bajío region of central Mexico, and has an area of some 815.52 square kilometres .
