Iguala
The historic city of Iguala de la Independencia is located 102 km from state capital Chilpancingo in the Mexican state of Guerrero. It stands on Federal Highway 95. Iguala is the municipal seat of the municipality of the same name, located in the north-central part of the state. The city had a 2005 census population of 110,390 and the municipality 128,444. This is a building built in the 1750s (more precisely, between 1751 and 1758), dedicated to the Catholic religion in that population whose main activity was -and remains- mining Plate. The construction was ordered by the Catalan miner José de la Borda, one of the most prosperous of the region of Taxco in the 18th century.
