Huetamo

Huetamo is a municipality in the southeastern corner of the Mexican state of Michoacán, in a region known as "Tierra Caliente" (meaning hot land). Of indigenous Purepecha Indian origin, the word "Huetamo" means "four chiefs" or "four came". Fr. Juan Bautista de Moya founded it in 1553 and its official name now is San Juan Huetamo de Nunez.

San Lucas, Michoacán

San Lucas is a municipality located in the Mexican state of Michoacán. The municipality has an area of 474.41 square kilometres (0.30% of the surface of the state) and is bordered to the north by the municipality of Tiquicheo, to the east and south by the state of Guerrero, and to the west by Huetamo. The municipality had a population of 16,953 inhabitants according to the 2005 census. Its municipal seat is the city of the same name.
