Cuautla, Jalisco

Cuautla, Jalisco is a small town located in the hills of western Mexico. It is situated at an elevation of 5,639 ft. (1,719 m) between Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta. It has fewer than 3,000 permanent residents. Its name means place where eagles land, and was originally inhabited by people of the Cuyuteca culture. Today it is primarily a town of senior citizens and children. Most people of productive age have elected to move to the United States of America seeking better opportunities.

Cerro El Huehuentón

The Cerro El Huehuentón (Nahuatl: Huēhuēntōn "little old man") is the highest peak of the Sierra de Quila; it stands at 8,298 ft above sea level. El Huehuentón is located at about a 30-minute drive from Lagunillas, the largest population enclaved in the forest, between the municipalities of San Martín de Hidalgo and Tecolotlán, in Jalisco. It is not sure why the mount got its peculiar name meaning "little old man", although the Tepenahuales, who spoke Nahuatl, inhabited the area since the 1400s.

Tenamaxtlán

Tenamaxtlán is a municipio and town in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It has renown for the huge festivities that are held every December for a period of two weeks. It is famous for its bull fights during the holidays. Tenamaxtlán was founded about 480-500 years ago. The current mayor of the town is Juan Carlos Nuno Garcia.
