Lic. y Gen. Ignacio López Rayón International Airport, also known as "Uruapan International Airport", serves the Mexican city of Uruapan, and is the second largest international gateway of the Mexican state of Michoacán. Nuevo San Juan Parangaricutiro

Nuevo San Juan Parangaricutiro, in the Mexican state of Michoacán, is a small village near the Parícutin volcano. The city is called "Nuevo" (Spanish for "New") because the original San Juan Parangaricutiro was destroyed during the formation of the Parícutin volcano in 1943. Along with the village of Parícutin, San Juan Parangaricutiro was buried beneath ash and lava. The tops of cathedrals in old San Juan Parangaricutiro still protrude from the volcanic deposits.

Parícutin

Parícutin (or Volcán de Parícutin, also accented Paricutín) is a cinder cone volcano in the Mexican state of Michoacán, close to a lava-covered village of the same name. The volcano is unique in the fact that its evolution from creation to extinction was witnessed, observed and studied by human beings. It appears on many versions of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Parícutin is part of the Michoacán-Guanajuato volcanic field, which covers much of west central Mexico.

Taretan

Taretan is a municipality located in the central part of the Mexican state of Michoacán. The municipality has an area of 185.23 square kilometres (0.56% of the surface of the state) and is bordered to the north by the municipality of Ziracuaretiro, to the east by Salvador Escalante and Ario, to the south by Gabriel Zamora and Nuevo Urecho, and to the west by Uruapan The municipality had a population of 12,294 inhabitants according to the 2005 census.

Paracho

Paracho de Verduzco (often called merely Paracho) is a small city located in Michoacán, Mexico. Located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:19|39|0|N|102|4|0|W| | |name= }}, about 100 kilometers (60 mi) west of state capital Morelia, it serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of Paracho. It has a population of some 16,500. Paracho is well known throughout both Mexico and elsewhere in the world as hub of lutherie.
