Sahuayo

Sahuayo is a city in the state of Michoacán, in western México, near the southern shore of Lake Chapala. It serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name. Sahuayo was an important center for the Cristero War or "La Cristiada" and the city always has been an active center of commerce for the Chapala lake, specially crafts, sandals, hats, made by Sahuayenses.

Jiquilpan, Michoacán

Jiquilpan (also spelled Xiuquilpan, Xiquilpan, Xiquilpa, based on a Náhuatl word for "place of tint plants") is a municipality in the Mexican state of Michoacán. Its municipal seat is Jiquilpan de Juárez. Jiquilpan is the birthplace of two presidents of the republic: Anastasio Bustamante, who served as President of the Republic on three occasions in the mid-19th century; and also of one of the most popular presidents of Mexico, Lázaro Cárdenas.

Mazamitla

Mazamitla (La Capital de la Montaña) is a town and municipality of the Mexican state of Jalisco. It is located 124 km south of Guadalajara in the Southeast Region and is a popular resort destination for travelers from Guadalajara. Its name comes from the Nahuatl and means "place where arrows to hunt deer are made"; its area is 177.18 km. According to Count II Population and Housing, the municipality has 11671 inhabitants who are devoted mainly to the tertiary sector.

Lerma River

The Lerma River is Mexico's second longest river. It is a 750 km-long river in west-central Mexico that begins in Mexican Plateau at an altitude over 3,000 metres above sea level, and ends where it empties into Lake Chapala, Mexico's largest lake, near Guadalajara, Jalisco. Lake Chapala is the starting point of Río Grande de Santiago, which some treat as a continuation of the Lerma River. In combination, the two are often called the Lerma Santiago River (Spanish: Río Lerma Santiago).
