Cárdenas, Tabasco

Cárdenas is the second-largest city in the state of Tabasco, in southeastern Mexico. It lies in the northwestern part of the state, on the Gulf of Mexico coast, east of the city of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz. The city is the municipal seat of Cárdenas Municipality. At the census of 2005 the city had a population of 79,875 inhabitants, while the municipality had 219,563 inhabitants.

XENAC-AM

XENAC (La Voz de los Chontales – "The Voice of the Chontals") was an indigenous community radio station that broadcast in Spanish and Chontal Maya from Nacajuca in the Mexican state of Tabasco. It was run by the National Indigenist Institute (INI). It ceased broadcasting in 1990 under Governor Salvador Neme Castillo, was closed in 2000 under Governor Roberto Madrazo Pintado, and its licence was cancelled in 2001 under Governor Enrique Priego Oropeza.
