Ciudad Mier

Mier, also known as El Paso del Cántaro, is a city in Mier Municipality in Tamaulipas, located in northern Mexico near the Rio Grande, just south of Falcon Dam. It is 90 miles northeast of Monterrey on Mexican Federal Highway 2. (26°28'N 99°10'W) In 1990, the population was recorded at 6,190. By the 2010 census, it had dropped to 4,762 inhabitants. It has an agricultural economy centered on cotton, sugarcane, corn, and livestock.

Agualeguas, Nuevo León

Agualeguas is both a city and a municipality located in the northeastern part of the state of Nuevo León, Mexico, . The name "Agualeguas" honors the first inhabitants of the region, the Gualegua tribe. It was erected as a village on January 7, 1821 by Bro. Diego Velázquez. The municipality has an area of 917.6 km² and is located 180 meters above the sea level. According to the 2000 census, there are 4,492 inhabitants.

Falcon International Reservoir

Falcon International Reservoir, commonly called Falcon Lake, is a reservoir on the Rio Grande 40 miles (64 km) southeast of Laredo, Texas, USA, and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The huge lake is bounded by Starr and Zapata counties on the Texas side of the international border and the municipality and city of Nueva Ciudad Guerrero on the Tamaulipas side of the border.

The Lake Falcon Dam International Crossing is a bridge across the Rio Grande south of Falcon Lake. The dam connects the United States-Mexico border cities of Falcon Heights, Texas and Nueva Ciudad Guerrero, Tamaulipas.
