Perote, Veracruz
Perote is a city and municipality in the Mexican state of Veracruz. It serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name, which borders on Las Vigas de Ramírez, Acajete, Xico and Tlalnelhuayocan, and the state of Puebla. It is on Federal Highway 140. Its climate is regular cold and dry with an annual average temperature of 12 Celsius. Perote's fortress of San Carlos once served as a prison. Guadalupe Victoria died there.

Cofre de Perote
Cofre de Perote, originally Naupa-Tecutépetl (from Nāuhpa-Tēuctēpetl in the Nahuatl language), is known also as Nauhcampatépetl. Both Nahuatl names mean something like 'Place of Four Mountain' or 'Mountain of the Lord of Four Places'. This extinct volcano is located in the Mexican state of Veracruz, at the point where the Trans-Mexican volcanic belt, home to all of Mexico's highest peaks, joins the Sierra Madre Oriental.

San Carlos Fortress
The San Carlos Fortress is a fort in the city of Perote, in the Mexican state of Veracruz. It is also known as the Fort of San Carlos, Perote Castle, the Castle of San Carlos, Perote Prison, San Carlos de Perote Fortress, and San Carlos de Perote Castle. The fortress was built from 1770 to 1776 by Manuel de Santisteban as a guard post and repository for treasure prior to shipment to Spain.

La Chingada is a town in the municipality of Perote in the Mexican state of Veracruz. The place is famous for its name, the Mexican Spanish vulgarism La Chingada. It means, roughly, "The Fucked", a vulgar but common reference to La Malinche, the Indian mistress of Hernán Cortés, the Spanish conquistador who conquered Mexico. The term "La Chingada" is used in a variety of mostly offensive or vulgar meanings, Vete a la Chingada means, for example something like "Go to hell".

Villa Aldama
Villa Aldama is a municipality located in the central zone in the State of Veracruz, about 33 km from state capital Xalapa. It has a surface of 78.96 km2. The municipality takes this name in honor to Don Juan Aldama, who was one of the commanders of the Independence of Mexico.
